I am Kathleen.

I am an energetic food and beverage professional, writer, teacher, student and entrepreneur. I survived adolescence in my family's restaurant, Tozzi's in Magnolia, Ohio. In 2002, I graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI with degrees in Culinary Arts and Hotel/Restaurant Management. Much of my career has been in retail as a leader with Whole Foods Market. I'm now at home in the beautiful coastal lowcountry near Charleston, SC and using that culinary experience and knowledge in new and creative ways-from working farmer's markets to teaching as an adjunct instructor in The Art Institute of Charleston's culinary program. My newest adventure is as an entrepreneur. I am the founder of Spark Spoon, an organization supporting and empowering Good Food organizations with business consulting, marketing and sales, and education. Oh, and I'm in grad school pursuing a Master's in Entrepreneurship from University of Florida's Warrington School of Business.

The importance of and joy found in feeding people stirs my soul. My passion is creating, protecting, teaching about and sharing incredible food and the stories behind it-food that matters and has a positive impact on the community near us and the world around us. I'm inspired by the people finding innovative ways to create and grow food that honors history, heritage and place. I am always looking to help share the mission of and strategically grow good food organizations.

Personal Mission Statement:

I aspire to feed people with creativity and joy, whether they are hungry for nourishment or thirsting for knowledge. I will use my energy and passion to inspire others to create, protect and share good food along with me.

I hope to share some good food with you soon.
